Vaginal birth increases the risk of brain haemorrhage in newborns but it is uncertain if the early bleeding lead to problems with subsequent child development or not.
While performing some research on schizophrenia, psychiatrists noticed minor haemorrhages in the newborns. So to find the cause of the problem, they observed some 88 infants and recorded their information regarding birth, duration of labor, infant’s weight, head size and gestational age at birth.
Thus, they concluded that 26% of the babies born vaginally had bleeding in the brain, while those born through caesarean were not affected.
