I was not sure what a Wet Nurse even was until I came across this piece of writing by Tralee Pearce.
It says that women who are not in position to nurse their young ones because of either reason may go in for Wet Nursing or Cross Nursing.
The phenomenon is really growing into the North American mainstream to serve babies at risk, including sick and premature infants.
In Canada, the only milk bank is the B.C. Women’s Milk Bank, connected to the B.C. Women’s Hospital.
Last year, the bank served 500 recipients, up from only 33 in 1999, and even shipped to Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital.
In both Montreal and Toronto, medical teams are working on getting additional banks up and running.

Mommies would agree with me on the fact that a baby with a snotty nose is a big problem.
Neither can you bring the snot out of those tiny nostrils without hurting him nor can you let it accumulate there.
Soto bring you out of that jinxed situation, we have brought a bizarre but seemingly useful tool. It’s called Nosafrida.
Useful because it is a snot sucker to clean your baby’s nostrils and bizarre because you will be using your mouth to suck the snot out…sounds yuck!
I know, but don’t get bugged up… as there will be a long flexible tube with a mouthpiece between you and the snot collection chamber on the other end.
You’ll have to place the open end of the snot collection chamber against your baby’s nostrils and take the mouthpiece in your mouth and suck.
Don’t worry the inline filter will stop the snot from reaching your mouth. To prevent the filter from getting choked with dirt, you just have to blow of the mouthpiece in the sink and wash it and it’s ready to be used again.

Recent Australian study has suggested that a dad’s parenting pattern influences a kid’s weight enormously.
Findings are based on the study of 5,000 children, four to five years of age, along with their parents.
Scholars discovered that fathers who employ no restrictions on the children are more likely to have obese children in comparison to fathers who set certain limitations to their offspring.
In latter case, children were less likely to have a higher body mass index (BMI).
There was no association between the mothers’ parenting styles
and children’s weight, said the study authors from the Centre for Community Child Health (CCCH) at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
Melissa Wake, an associate professor at CCCH asserted that the findings are based on random research of Australian preschoolers.
She further said that it so happens that often mothers are to blamed for their child’s obesity but the new study has exploded the stereotypical myth, hence, for looking into the matter of childhood obesity,
whole family must be taken into consideration.

Despite frequent warnings that television ‘harms’ children’s health, the number of TV-addicted babies is booming fast in the U.S.
, which confirms a study by the researchers according to which nearly 90 per cent of the children under age 2 and as many as 40 per cent of the infants under three months, watch television, DVDs and videos on regular basis.
What makes these findings more bewildering is the fact that figures looming out of this study are much greater than expected.
It is quite shocking that children in the United States watch four hours of television every day.
It stands quite contrary to the recommendation, which prates that children under age 2 should not watch television at all and older children too shouldn’t be allowed to watch television more than 2 hours in a day.
Another shocking thing that came out during this study unveils that a big percentage of parents is nourishing several misperceptions regarding effects of television viewing on their kids.
Among these misperceptions quite common were:
• Baby-oriented TV and DVD programs offer educational benefits.
• Their babies watch comparatively less television than other babies.
